Santarcangelo di Romagna is preparing for a vibrant holiday season, a “Christmas in the Places of the Soul,” honoring the legacies of Tonino Guerra and Pino Boschetti, two renowned local artists. This festive program, running through December 8th, is a collaborative effort between the municipal administration, the Volunteer Consulta, FoCuS, Pro Loco, Città Viva, the “Places of the Soul” film festival, and numerous other community organizations. A diverse array of events will enliven the town, beginning with art exhibitions: “Dario and his Landscapes,” featuring the works of Dario Beltrambini at the Baldini Library Gallery (November 29th, 6 PM); and “Linear,” showcasing Marco Neri and Graziano Spinosi’s art at the Musas (November 30th, 6 PM), both curated by FoCuS. Throughout the first weekend of December, Piazza Ganganelli and Piazza Marini will host “Hands in the Square,” a bustling marketplace brimming with local artisans, artists, and producers (November 30th-December 1st). A vintage and collectibles market, “The House of Time,” will also take place in Piazza Ganganelli on December 1st. December 3rd promises diverse offerings, including a disability rights awareness event (“Rights in the Square”) in Piazza Ganganelli and a special cinema experience for families with infants (“Cinemamme”) at C’entro Supercinema. The festivities continue with workshops for children at the Baldini Library (December 3rd-19th, “Future Splendor”; December 3rd, “Christmas with the Family Center”; December 4th, “Welcome Back Christmas”). A guided wine tasting (“Discovering Rimini DOC Sangiovese”) is scheduled for December 5th at Musas. A film screening and discussion about Falcone and Borsellino will take place at Teatro Lavatoio on December 7th, as part of the Anticorpi festival. “Hands in the Square” returns on December 7th and 8th. The official opening of “In the Places of the Soul: Christmas in Santarcangelo” will be held on December 8th, featuring the unveiling of a large mechanical nativity scene and the lighting of the Christmas tree dedicated to Giuseppe Boschetti, an artwork by Eron. The “Luoghi dell’Anima – Italian Film Festival” runs from December 9th to 15th. A multitude of events fill the remaining days of December: a solidarity market on December 15th, street performers throughout the month, concerts by various choirs (including the Magnificat and Malatesta Choirs on December 15th, and the Giulio Faini Municipal Music School on December 15th). Film screenings, including “Jesus Loves the Fools” with a La Crus concert (December 17th) and “Mufasa – The Lion King” (December 19th-22nd and December 25th-29th) continue to offer entertainment. A theatre performance (“Atteone”) is scheduled for December 19th. A literary reading (“Letter to My Father” by Franz Kafka) will be held on December 19th. The month concludes with a New Year’s Eve celebration in Piazza Ganganelli, featuring video mapping and live music (December 31st). January brings additional events, including a musical (“The Legend of the Fourth King”) on January 4th, further market events, and a concert (January 5th). A living nativity scene will conclude the festivities on January 6th. Please note that Romagna a Tavola is simply promoting this event, not organizing it.
