Romagna Wine Showcase at Casa Spadoni: A Celebration of Sangiovese and Albana

The highly anticipated Vini ad Arte event returned to Faenza on February 23rd and 24th, 2020, celebrating the pinnacle of Romagna’s wine production. Now in its fifteenth year, this showcase, organized by the Consorzio Vini di Romagna, placed the spotlight on the preview of the 2017 Romagna Sangiovese Riserva, among other distinguished vintages. This year’s venue, the elegant Casa Spadoni, hosted over 50 producers representing the entire Romagna wine region, from Rimini to Imola, encompassing Forlì-Cesena and Ravenna provinces. They presented their latest vintages of Romagna Sangiovese and Albana to the public, Ho.Re.Ca. professionals, and over 40 international journalists. Public access was granted on Sunday, February 23rd, from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM (entry fee: €15). Monday, February 24th, was dedicated to industry professionals, who could register online at www.viniadarte.it. Sunday’s program also included the public finale of the 18th “Master del Sangiovese 2020 – Trofeo Consorzio Vini di Romagna” sommelier competition, a collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association, designed to elevate Sangiovese ambassadors. Vini ad Arte also served as a stop on the “Premio Carta Canta” circuit, a joint initiative of the Emilia Romagna Regional Wine Shop and FIPE (Italian Federation of Public Establishments) Emilia Romagna, affiliated with Confcommercio. This initiative recognizes establishments committed to regional authenticity by featuring local wine specialties on their menus. The “Carta Canta” award celebrates wine lists from restaurants, wine shops, bars, agriturismos, beach clubs, and hotels showcasing a selection of Emilia Romagna wines. Those submitting their wine lists to the Emilia Romagna Regional Wine Shop and participating in the Monday, February 24th, event at Casa Spadoni were eligible for the “Vini ad Arte Edition” special award within the Carta Canta competition, with the prize ceremony at Vinitaly 2020. Furthermore, the “Aspettando Vini ad Arte” initiative returned, offering patrons a €5 discount on Sunday’s tasting event at Casa Spadoni for consuming Romagna DOC wines at participating restaurants. This collaboration involved Confcommercio Ascom Faenza and Confesercenti Faenza. The event enjoyed the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Faenza. The Consorzio Vini di Romagna organized the event with the support of Convito di Romagna. Location: Casa Spadoni, via Granarolo 99, Faenza. Romagna a Tavola publicized the event but did not organize it. For further information, please contact the organizers. Stay informed about future events! SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER
