Fano’s International Brodetto Festival: A Culinary Celebration on the Adriatic Coast

The highly anticipated Adriatic Coast culinary event, the International Brodetto and Fish Soup Festival (“BrodettoFest”), returns this year. From September 10th to 12th, 2021, the picturesque Simonetti promenade in Fano’s Lido will host the 19th edition of this gastronomic tradition. The festival kicks off Friday, September 10th, at 6:30 PM at the Lido’s Cavea venue, with organizers and supporters in attendance. Distinguished guests include Francesco Battistoni, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, and Riccardo Rigillo, Director General of Fisheries at the same Ministry, highlighting the strong partnership between the Ministry and BrodettoFest. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the festivities continue with an inaugural cooking demonstration. At the PalaBrodetto (8:00 PM, reservations required at www.brodettofest.it – €20 including a dish and wine pairing), Michelin two-starred chef Alberto Faccani will present his “Adriatic Riviera Risotto.” Known for his innovative and playful culinary approach emphasizing pure flavors and harmonious pairings, Chef Faccani delivers an exceptional gastronomic experience. The evening concludes at PalaBrodetto (10:00 PM, reservations required, €10) with the first Brodetto Lab session. This ongoing tasting workshop spotlights culinary research and the exciting fusion of tradition and innovation, featuring creative interpretations of brodetto paired with Bianchello wines. Concurrently, at the Lido’s Cavea, the first BrodettoTime (reservations required online) commences at 9:30 PM. This engaging talk show, hosted by Federico Quaranta (Linea Verde Radici, Rai1, and Decanter, Radio2 – Rai), will feature captivating stories and discussions about food and culinary passion, showcasing renowned Italian journalist Marino Bartoletti and his latest book, “La cena degli Dei” (Gallucci publisher). From 6:00 PM onwards in Largo Seneca, families can enjoy the Brodetto & Kids area, a collaboration with the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies. This dedicated space offers creative workshops, active games, maritime-themed readings, and other activities designed to engage children and adults alike.
