Cattolica’s “Piadina Night”: A Culinary Celebration

Experience an unforgettable evening celebrating the piadina, Romagna’s iconic flatbread! On Friday, July 14th, 2023, Cattolica hosts “Piadina Night,” transforming this street food staple into a gourmet delight. Enjoy a refined tasting menu featuring piadina pairings with exceptional regional wines, expertly presented and described by AIS sommeliers. The stunning Piazza del Tramonto provides the perfect sunset backdrop for this culinary event. MasterChef Italy Season 10 winner, Francesco Aquila, will headline the evening with a captivating cooking demonstration showcasing his signature gourmet piadina creations. He’ll be joined by Carla Brigliadori of the Emilia-Romagna Chef to Chef Association and Silvia Mariani, chef of the Pellegrino Artusio Institute, who will contribute additional traditional and gourmet piadina variations. Complementing the PGI-certified Romagna piadina and its diverse fillings—showcasing regional ingredients—fresh Adriatic cuttlefish, prepared and presented by local fishermen, will add a delightful seafood dimension to the feast. A curated selection of regional wines, carefully chosen by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Wine Shop, will accompany the culinary journey. Throughout the evening, enjoy live music, interactive photo opportunities, and engaging surprises featuring Chef Aquila. The event begins at 7:30 PM in Piazza del Tramonto. The tasting menu includes three piadina variations (classic and gourmet), a cuttlefish dish, three wine pours, and a complimentary tasting glass.
