Rimini’s Culinary Journey: A Street Food Television Premiere

A television series showcasing Rimini Street Food, the pioneering guide to the region’s street cuisine (www.riministreetfood.com), will debut on Food Network (digital terrestrial channel 33). The four-part series begins November 18th with back-to-back episodes airing at 11:35 AM and 11:50 AM, respectively. The remaining episodes will broadcast on November 25th at the same times. Conceived in 2011 through a collaboration between the Municipality of Rimini and Rolling Stone magazine, with early involvement from Ducati, Rimini Street Food anticipated a burgeoning culinary trend. This initiative highlighted the potential of street food, fostering communication and strategic partnerships. Mayor Andrea Gnassi explains, “Street food embodies the essence of a place, the thrill of exploration.” Rimini’s culinary narrative emphasizes authentic regional gastronomy and its talented chefs, true ambassadors of Italian cuisine worldwide. Now that even discerning gourmets embrace street food, Rimini—situated along the Via Emilia, a route traversing Emilia-Romagna’s exceptional food and wine producers—embodies modern lifestyles. Fine dining descends from its pedestal of exclusivity, merging with high-quality local ingredients. This accessible culinary celebration unfolds near the sea, offering not just a food tour, but an emotional journey revealing Rimini’s authentic values, craftsmanship, and products. The experience encourages exploration – perhaps by motorcycle or bicycle – uncovering hidden gems through the creative lens of renowned chefs, uniting global brands like Ducati. Since its 2012 launch, the project has engaged 28 Michelin-starred and internationally acclaimed chefs. They’ve traded their white coats for leather jackets, riding Ducatis through Rimini’s scenic coastal and inland routes to discover the most authentic and compelling street food venues for the guide. Each chef uniquely interprets street food, showcasing their culinary expertise and creativity through exclusive recipes. Expanding in 2014, the initiative integrated the Scrambler Ducati brand, leading to “Taste of Joy,” an app for motorcycle enthusiasts and street food lovers eager to explore Italy’s culinary delights. The digital platform’s success and credibility naturally evolved into a television presence on Food Network. The first four episodes feature culinary luminaries Norbert Niederkofler, Riccardo Monco, Moreno Cedroni, and Giancarlo Perbellini, who share their experiences. Food Network, a leading digital terrestrial entertainment channel dedicated to food, aims to unite food enthusiasts, sharing the passion and joy of communal dining. Food Network provides accessible recipes, culinary journeys, and engaging programming, embodying its motto: “Together, there’s more flavor!” A subsidiary of Discovery Inc., a global leader in real-life entertainment, Food Network presents Rimini’s iconic locations and its most celebrated dish, the piadina. Rimini serves as the central narrative hub, showcasing culinary masters who captivate generations with their craft. Emilia-Romagna, represented by the Food Valley brand, participates in this television series, uniting prestigious culinary figures and sharing the region’s gastronomic treasures. This collaboration celebrates and elevates the region’s culinary heritage. Stay informed about Recipes, Events, and Festivals! SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEWSLETTER
