Immerse yourself in the breathtaking spectacle of autumnal foliage amidst the UNESCO World Heritage forests during Badia Prataglia’s Fall Foliage Festival, coupled with the traditional Chestnut Feast, on Sunday, October 20th, 2024. This exceptional day offers a unique opportunity to witness nature’s vibrant transformation. Choose from a range of guided excursions, including nature photography walks, family-friendly chestnut hunts, and more challenging treks for experienced hikers. Enjoy entertainment provided by the Pala Eremita, alongside the festive atmosphere of the village’s chestnut celebration. Post-hike, savor delectable chestnut-based treats. The festivities begin on Saturday, October 19th, at 4:00 PM, with the opening of food stalls featuring chestnut-inspired culinary delights, a local artisan market, children’s activities, and traditional music courtesy of the Badia Prataglia Pro Loco. Guided hikes depart at 9:00 AM, encompassing various difficulty levels and durations (4-6 hours), with varying elevation gains and distances (400-550m, 11-15km). A specialized guided excursion, focusing on the remarkable Lama Forest, is designed for experienced hikers. A family-friendly chestnut-gathering walk starts at 10:00 AM. A participation fee of €5.00 per person is required for all guided walks; reservations are mandatory by Friday, October 18th.
