Rimini’s Beer & Food Extravaganza: A Trade Show Preview

From February 18th to 20th, 2024, Rimini Fiera will host the highly anticipated Beer&Food Attraction event. This comprehensive trade show brings together a vast array of domestic and international beer specialties, craft brews, and beverages for the HoReCa sector and the food supply chain, showcasing the latest out-of-home trends. Access is exclusively granted to industry professionals. Running concurrently is BBTech expo, a professional exhibition of brewing and beverage technologies, completing the presentation of the entire production chain, from technology to finished product. Also featured is the 13th International Horeca Meeting, organized by Italgrob. Three days of workshops and conferences are planned. Three themed arenas – the Beer&Tech Arena, the Horeca Arena, and the Mixology Circus – will host a vibrant schedule of competitions, talks, demonstrations, and workshops led by leading industry experts. Attendees can enhance their skills, stay abreast of the latest trends, and explore innovative industry visions. The focus extends beyond exceptional Italian and international beers to encompass the entire beverage and mixology sectors, including soft drinks, spirits, mineral waters, fruit juices, and energy drinks. The “beer” exhibition area, the event’s core, showcases an extensive selection of beers, from established Italian and international brands to inventive and unique offerings. Small, medium, and large breweries will participate, launching their newest creations. The show enjoys the continued collaboration of key partners: Assobirra – Confindustria and Unionbirrai, Italy’s leading craft beer association, organizing the 19th Premio Birra dell’Anno, the nation’s most prestigious competition awarding Italy’s best craft beers and the “Brewery of the Year” within the Beer&Tech Arena. Expert tasters from Italy and abroad will conduct blind tastings of craft beers across 45 categories, submitted by 255 breweries. Now in its second year, the Mixology Circus arena, dedicated to spirits and cocktail bars, aims to celebrate the art of exceptional mixology, emphasizing the sensory experience of tasting cocktails and the emotions they evoke. Top Italian and international bartenders will showcase their skills, sharing their expertise and passion in Rimini. This 100% Beer&Food Attraction project, organized in partnership with Samuele Ambrosi (cocktail bar developer, mixologist, official AIBES trainer, world champion, and leading gin expert), features a dynamic format showcasing 10 venues, including two international cocktail bars: Cloakroom (Treviso), Drink Kong (Roma), Gucci Giardino 25 (Firenze), Freni e Frizioni (Roma), Jerry Thomas (Roma), Panda & Sons (Edinburgh – Scotland), Quanto Basta (Lecce), Ruggine (Bologna), The Bar in Front of the Bar (Athens – Greece), and Tripstillery (Milan). High-level masterclasses led by mixology experts will highlight the artistry and evolution of cocktail creation. The Mixology Circus also offers a unique opportunity to sample the products and ingredients from partner companies. The food sector is prominently featured in Hall A3, hosting the Italian Culinary Championships, a major national culinary competition organized by the Italian Chefs Federation (Federazione Italiana Cuochi). Now in their 8th year, these championships, recognized by Worldchefs (the global chefs organization where FIC is a highly active member), are an anticipated event and contribute to the show’s international status. The 2024 event includes many new competitions showcasing the global restaurant industry. Pizza Senza Frontiere – World Pizza Champion Games will again be featured thanks to a partnership with Ristorazione Italiana Magazine. Building on the impressive success of the 2023 edition, the 2024 event promises to be even larger, with 14 full competition stations, up from 10 in the previous year.
